Activity 1:  Interview with Landscape Architect 

The landscape architect will visit the classroom. He will explain to you the different parts of the courtyard plan.  You will then ask the landscape architect questions.

 Activity 2:  The Gardener   

A teacher will read the story The Gardener to the class.  The class will help the teacher complete the 6-Square Summary sheet.

 Activity 3:  Field Trip  

You will be traveling with your class to a nature site. At the site, you will be filling out the Sense Chart.  You will be listing what things you see, hear, feel, taste, and smell.

 Activity 4:  "A Bug's Life"  

Watch the movie "A Bug's Life" with the class. Write in your journal any personal connections you made between the movie and your experiences with the courtyard unit.
