PROBLEM STATEMENT: Discover the workings of heredity and the role it plays in the lives of parents and offspring.
LEARNING CHALLENGE: You will be studying the history and development of genetics in order to become a professional genetic counselor. How are traits passed from parents to offspring? How closely must a child resemble his/her parents? Could two parents produce a child with a different blood type, or different color hair or eyes? By the end of your studies, you will be equipped with all the tools necessary to answer these questions and many more. In order to prove your expertise, you will research the genetic history of two young parents and determine their newborn baby's genetic profile. Then you must use your findings to convince the concerned young couple that they are without a doubt the true biological parents of the newborn.
