GUN CONTROL:
An Issue with Two Sides
Gun control is a heated issue that has sparked debate for decades.
Pro gun control advocates (those in favor of more laws governing the ownership, use, and sale of guns) argue for stricter laws limiting the sale and use of firearms.
Anti gun control advocates (those who are in favor of less laws governing the ownership, use and sale of guns) argue for their right to bear arms.
Because of the ever increasing presence of violence in our society, no American citizen can ignore this timely issue.
In addition, there has been a noticeable increase in gun-related crimes/accidents among children. "Kids Killing Kids" has become a national problem. As an adolescent in our society, your voice should be heard!
River Trails will be holding a letter writing campaign focused on the pros and cons of gun control. These letters will be written after extensive research regarding guns in our society. The letters will be sent to our state senators to make them aware of your concerns and ideas on this important issue.
