Thriller
You will use the Tycoon Computer Software to design your own roller coaster model on the computer. You will then do a simulated test ride on your coaster. The best coaster will be chosen based on creativity of design and the actual "thrill" from a simulated ride.
The Fast and the Furious
You must compose a commercial/jingle for your roller coaster. You may dramatize your commercial in front of the class or prepare a videotape for the class.
Design on a Dime
You will construct your own roller coaster models for the learning challenge. You may use approved materials to construct your models. A panel of experts (administrators from our school) will choose the best model for the new theme park.
Show What You Know
You will prepare a power point oral presentation showing what you have learned about how roller coasters work. Your power point presentation must include at least 5 slides. Use your learning logs as a reference.
