Follow the directions below for each group of Team Activities You group must complete one of three:
Your group will investigate the past 50 years of the St. Alphonsus community and use that information to create a yearbook to show the past of the community.
Your group will investigate the present time of the St. Alphonsus community and use that information to create an ABC book to show the present organization of the community.
Your group will brainstorm and research the strengths of the St. Alphonsus community and use that information to create an infomercial to promote the community of St. Alphonsus to the outside community.
You must choose one of the three:
You have all learned to find mean, median, and mode. You will now use this prior knowledge to determine the mean of student enrollment and parish enrollment throughout the years. You will use the Internet, old yearbooks, various teachers/administrators, and other resources to find student enrollment in ten year increments over the past 44 years. Once you have obtained this data, you will find the mean enrollment in ten year increments.
Use your prior use of graphs and the information you find to determine which graphs would best represent mean data that the other groups are collecting. You will use the Internet, textbooks, and notes to identify different types of graphs. After investigating each graph, you will evaluate the graphs that would be represent mean.
Your job is to interview current students at St. Alphonsus to find how many boys and girls are enrolled and what the most important part of the school is to them. You will also be required to ask students two other important survey questions that relate to the identity of the school. You will then need to tally the information and find the mean response to the questions.
You must complete each of these:
Now that you have completed the first part of the Venn diagram, you will break into your PBL groups to come up with the Catholic Church’s morals and values and complete the last half of the diagram based off the information you have obtained.
Based on all of the knowledge through individual and group activities your team has come to learn, your group will create an identity that reflects and represents the St. Alphonsus Community (school and church). This new identity will help to promote the success of the school and church community for the future. Your new identity, when completed, will then be presented to the St. Alphonsus Anniversary Committee. The committee will then vote on each identity and decide on which parts of your identities they wish to use.
