Assessment Instruments

- Formative Questions:
Used to quickly and easily determine if the students are learning and using
their problem-solving skills. These questions use the higher levels of Bloom's
taxonomy.
- Assessment Rubrics:
(IAR-1,2,3) These
rubrics are used for determining
the students' success with several of the key concepts in this Learning
Challenge.
- Problem-solving and Decision-making Skills Rubric:
(PDR-1)
Used at the end of the unit to evaluate the students' ability to apply the
critical thinking skills that have been integrated into this unit while riding
a bike in an obstacle course.
- Recall Test: (RT-1) A forced answer test whereby the
students need to recall much of what they have learned during the unit.
- Case Study: (CS-1) The purpose for implementing the case study is to
see if the students can apply their problem-solving and decision-making skills
in areas that are not related to the Learning Challenge.
