Simulated Bike Ride 

Each student will create a set of handlebars in the art area. They will be given 1 paper towel roll. They will decorate it using markers or crayons, and attach yarn to hang out of the sides. The students will then go on a simulated bike ride around the nearby classrooms observing and obeying signs along the way that the teacher has posted.

Students will take home their handlebars so they can practice observing safe bicycling rules in their own neighborhood. A note (IA-1) will go home to the parents explaining what needs to be done.
