Student Action Plan  

The purpose of the action plan is for the students to keep track of which activities they have completed. During the course of the day they may have several activities from which to choose, and young students need to be able to visually monitor their progress.

Each learning center that contains activities for this learning unit should contain a large poster with a list of those activities. It should be written in a checklist format with each student's name being written down the left side. A series of boxes labeled with a picture to represent each activity should be included so the children can keep track by themselves. As each child chooses an activity he should place a sticker in that activity box beside his name.

This format allows the teacher to quickly glance to see which activities the children may be missing. At the same time, it enables the students to see all of the places they've worked!
